Meet River, Our Inspiration
Every dog has a story, and every great journey has its inspiration. For River’s Dog Retreat, that inspiration comes directly from my best friend, River.
Born on November 22, 2017, River didn’t just enter our lives…he completely changed them. From his earliest days, River spent his puppyhood playing, exploring, and growing at the dog facility where I worked. Those playful mornings and joyful afternoons showed me firsthand just how magical a clean, well-run dog boarding and daycare facility could be. River thrived in this environment, and his excitement each day reinforced my passion for creating a special space for dogs.
River is the essence of adventure and companionship. Whether splashing joyfully through streams, swimming with unmatched enthusiasm, exploring trails, or simply lounging with his beloved pack, River embodies the happiness and freedom every dog deserves.
River’s Dog Retreat is not just another boarding facility….it’s an extension of the experiences and happiness River and I have shared. It’s a promise that every dog entrusted to our care will experience the same joy, companionship, and loving attention River has enjoyed every day of his life.
This place is dedicated to dogs like River: spirited explorers, gentle companions, and joyful playmates. Inspired by River’s zest for life and love of community, we promise to provide an environment filled with adventure, comfort, and care. Dogs have been a huge part of Ryan’s life for as long as he can remember, and it’s always been important to him to create a space where they feel as comfortable and loved as they do at home. He’s spent years turning that passion into a career where every detail matters.
When Ryan isn’t at the retreat, you’ll probably find him outdoors with River…often in Colorado, hiking trails, exploring new places, or relaxing by a lake. Summer is his favorite time of year; he enjoys everything from barbecues with friends and family to swimming and soaking up the sun.
Ryan loves being part of the Rockwall, Fate, and surrounding communities, and he’s thrilled to provide local families and their pets with a welcoming space at River’s Dog Retreat.

Ryan lives locally in Rockwall, TX with his wife Krysta, two young children and two high energy doodles. He is excited to combine his passion for dogs with his entrepreneurial spirit.
With experience serving families through his former business, Campus Crates, and consulting experience, Ryan is dedicated to providing a safe and fun environment for everyone’s furbabies. He is also the owner operator of Celebree School of Fate, showcasing his commitment to the broader community and its families.
